Onion Lake Blend & Condensate Pipeline Project
Project Summary
X-Terra Environmental were commissioned by LBX Pipeline Ltd. (LBX), a wholly owned subsidiary of Husky Oil Operations Limited, in 2018 to conduct environmental assessments to construct a pipeline Alberta border within the Onion Lake Indian Reserve, SK, and to complete the reporting for an Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment (ESA) and an Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) to submit to the National Energy Board (NEB), and the Environmental Review Form (EFR) to submit to Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC).
Our Role
X-Terra is an Indigenous-owned environmental and engineering service company specializing in environmental assessment, permitting, regulatory compliance monitoring and remediation. We have served the oil and gas, mining, utility and government sectors since 1997. Our multidisciplinary team is primarily located in our main offices in Saskatoon and Lloydminster. This allows us to provide local and personal project planning, management, technical and field services to our clients throughout western Canada. This work has allowed for assessment of changes in biophysical characteristics over time, contributes to an adaptive management framework for assessing and mitigating project associated impacts, and allows for the real-time implementation of mitigation measures due to year-round monitoring.
