Justin Maines - - P.Ag., B.Sc. (Honours) Land Use and Environmental Studies

Justin Maines has a four-year Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) in Land Use and Environmental Studies (LUEST) from the University of Saskatchewan, with a minor in GIS. The LUEST program is a multidisciplinary degree encompassing biology, geography, and economics, with a focus on the Earth’s natural resources and the corresponding environmental issues, providing a solid background in environmental assessment and management. The focus of Justin’s studies concentrated on soil science, geography and environmental assessment.

Justin is a registered member in good standing with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists, with a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) designation obtained in 2010.

Through Justin’s eight years of experience working as an Environmental Consultant he has developed extensive experience in coordinating, managing and conducting both the field work, maintaining client/government/land owner relations, and the report preparation necessary to fulfill governmental requirements essential to obtain the mandatory project approvals and ensuring clients are in compliance throughout the duration of their projects. His experience as an Environmental Consultant has allowed Justin to work in a wide range of sensitive environments in various eco-regions throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. These projects have also provided him with a wide range of experiences as an environmental monitor, with extensive experience monitoring seismic programs, soil salvage/handling of large scale oil sands projects, wellsite and access road construction and reclamation, pipeline installations and bores, along with spill monitoring and clean up. Through working on a variety of projects under different jurisdictions, these experiences have provided him with the opportunity to cultivate and grow strong, positive working relationships with many of the various project stakeholders and government agencies.
